  • London, the Winter of 1898. Everyone expected another mild winter, but there's a blizzard blowing in from the north. In Whitechapel and other poorer neighborhoods, the cold will kill many people. So will the monsters, beasts summoned by a mysterious Cabal of sorcerers bent on controlling the world. Only a few mortals possess the courage and skill to resist the creatures of the night. The ones who do have banded together into cells and lodges. They support each other. They share knowledge and fight side by side. They are The Rippers.

  • Dear Elizabeth, I will no longer leave you in suspense, though you might have received word of some of this already. There is more to the stories. Now, to begin the tale where I concluded it last time. The weather continued to improve for the most part, thank God. So...

  • Dear Elizabeth, I did assure you I would write about how we escaped from captivity. I was knocked unconscious. When I came to, I was suspended above a platform my feet could barely touch to some chains. My friends were in a similar position. There was a clock we could...

  • Dear Elizabeth, I had the strangest dream that night. I could see two figures, one of which looked like Freddie or Fi or Dr. Finley or Mr. Crowder or you or my favorite patients, struggling. The other people enjoying a lovely day at the park appeared to be completely oblivious....

  • Dear Elizabeth, After Aiden went to take some samples and do some studies, I was able to go in and speak to our patient. (Captive is such an ugly word.) He bore the tattoos of the merchant marines. He was not exactly forthcoming with answers to our questions, though what...

  • Dear Elizabeth, I was so pleased to receive your last letter, I am only sorry that my response is so delayed. My practice, which has been slowly but steadily growing, and research have kept me busy. So have Lord and Lady Barton, who have both become very dear to me....
