The Infrno Online Roleplaying Event Schedule For 2015~!

Buckle up gang, we have a lot to cover. First off, 2014 was the lightest event schedule in recent times, and we will be remedying that this year. We will have a bunch of community events, with special events to be anounced as they happen. 2015 will also see the return of InfrnoCon, which as you will see will be in September.

Let's just go ahead and get started.

First of all, the second Wednesday and Saturday of every month will be what I am calling, 'Community Get Together'. These will be themeless event days that are designed to be an excuse for us to put up random one shot games, and have an audience to come play them. Just hanging out and chatting will also be encouraged even more so than usual on these days. It will be a thing people can look towards every month knowing at least 2 days in the month they should be able to find a one shot and new interesting people to play with. I'll try and come up with rewards of some sort for participation, beyond badges (which I will give out ).

Beyond 'Community Get Togethers', we will also have a strong return of themed events this year. Let's look at the list:

January:   The Origins Event 1/23/15 - 1/25/15

This event is all about the beginnings of new adventures, new characters, and new perspectives. Inspired by the new year, and designed to celebrate the awakening of another year of grand roleplaying adventures. This could be a great time to introduce a new campaign, and start your new group. Maybe you just want to have a one shot that explores the beginnings of an event or of the characters journies. Maybe you want to take your group back in time, and explore untold stories. It's all up to you. This is a great time to start something new! We will be doing the Origins event every January.

February: Romance Is Alive/Dead 2/20/15 - 2/22/15

Now I know we have some groups out there who consistantly include romance as a component of their games, and since it's February, it's time for the rest of us to get into the spirit! Romance Is Alive /Dead is designed to be a great time for anyone who's ever been curious about adding romance to a game to try it out, and those who are RP heartbreakers can have a time to flourish. Of course this doesn't mean the games have to be only romance based, but there should be some kind of romance component to the session. Happy Valentines, be they bloody or otherwise!

March: Music Madness!   3/20/15 - 3/22/15

That beat is just too much, and we gotta hit the dance floor! Or at least roll the dice to see if we look cool or fall on our butts! Music Madness is an event I personally am looking forward to very much. This is an event that is just abstract enough that you can really let your imaginations go wild. A few example ideas for a music themed game I had thought of would be: 1. The Beatles in: Yellow Submarine (Players play the Fab four and try to get to Pepperland to save Sgt Pepper's Lonely Heart Club Band & the people of Pepperland), or 2. Rock God Time Police (Players take on the roles of various rock gods who each possess special abilities based on their songs, which they then use when traveling through time correcting paradoxes). See, you can go all over the place. Let's get creative and let our musical passions come out in our games for a few days!

April: Apocalyptic April   4/24/15 - 4/26/15

Zombies! Radioactive Mutants! No Water! Technology Wiped Out Mankind! These scenarios and many more are what makes up the Apocalyptic April event. It's time to think about what happens when civilization breaks down. How did it happen? What are the effects? How long has it been since the 'Fall'? Thinking about these questions should build you an epic Apocalyptic Apil game to wow us with. I for one cannot wait to wander through wastelands looking for that last desperate morsel of food or drop of water. Oh humanity, why ya gotta go ending the world & stuff?

May: Mighty Mighty Superheroes  5/22/15 - 5/24/15

Let's just face it. We're all going to see Avenger's: Age of Ultron. It's not like we even have a choice anymore. If Marvel released a movie about Paste Pot Pete, we'd all be compelled to go see it, and it would be awesome. Plus it would probably star Joaquin Phoenix, but anyway.... It's May, Avengers just came out, "LET'S BE SUPERHEROES!" Want to be dark gritty heroes, or four colour? Maybe you want to finally make that 'Rob Liefield RPG game' adventure where heroes' power is based on how many pouches and belts they are wearing. Maybe you want to do a game based on the 1980's classic indie comics, 'Nexus' or "Badger". Or, maybe, you just want to be the Avengers! This is the time to put on your spandex and play out those fantasies. Just don't ask Rorschach what he thinks about it. He'll just say, "Hurm.."

June: Literary Lifetimes   6/26/15 - 6/28/15

There is a whole plethora of amazing literary worlds out there for us to viciously exploit for our own wicked roleplay pleasures. It could be Wonderland, Middle Earth, Oz, District 12, Twain's American South, or any place you've ever wanted to explore more fully than the book allowed. Recreate or expand on any literary classic's places, people, and events. Let's hit the Library, and get inspired for grand adventures!

July: Fight For Independance!  7/24/15 - 7/26/15

It's time for a high stakes fight against oppressive odds! Be it a recreation of the American Revolution, or a fight to reclaim Earth from aliens, this is the event where we are going to give everything we have, even our lives, if means that we can be free! Let's make the founding fathers proud, by reclaiming our birthrights, and fighting for our very freedom! Go big, or stay home.

August: Mysteries Are Afoot   8/21/15 - 8/23/15

Super Sleuths Unite! All of you observant fellows and lasses will have a chance to flex those mental muscles, and take part in games where combat is one thing, but the real focus is the unsolved mystery that is laid out in front of you. Can you be the one who solves the puzzles? Will you be the one who finally brings the murderer to justice? Come be a virtual Sherlock, and solve the mystery of what to do in August!

September: INFRNOCON!!!!! 9/21/15 - 9/27/15

One full week of games, panels, special guests, and contests. This is the return of the Online Virtual Roleplaying Convention that is a celebration of Infrno, our community, and the great creative energy that flows through these screens on a yearly basis. I will be getting vendors & industry personalities involved, and will be getting some sort of schwag set up for those of you who come and take part. If you are going to only do one Online Event during the year, this is the one to do.

October: Haloween Horror-thon 10/23/15 - 10/25/15

We all know it's that time of year when things go bump in the night, but now you also know it's the time of year to go bumping in the virtual night as well. Zombies, ghosts, mummies, haunted houses, and demons will likely be showcased in games for this event. Who knows, maybe I'll finally see someone do a 'Dr. Giggles' one shot, and I can finally die content.

November: Infrno Arcade   11/20/15 - 11/22/15

Video Games rock, and so do games that are based on video games. We've done this event before and it was a lot of fun. We saw games based on Mass Effect, Borderlands, Fallout, & even Marvel Vs Capcom. Bringing video game mechanics into your roleplaying game can be exciting, and add a whole new dimension to the adventure. This year, I'm doing a game based on GTA 5. What are you going to do? 'ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED!'

December: 'How (_____) Saved Christmas!'  12/18/15 - 12/20/15

These will be games based on the Holidays, or including a holiday theme. There are many holidays during the month of December, so take your pick and make something magical!

Well, as you can see, we have a bunch of events to look forward to in 2015. The event pages will be open within the first week of each month, allowing GMs to get their games registered with time to get players signed up.

Gm's, remember, make your self available to prospective players who have questions. Also, the earlier you register a game, the more likely you will fill it up. Be proactive! Use  pictures on the game page, and be sure to give solid discriptions about your game, and what your vision for the session is. Thsi will benifit you and your players come game day!

I am looking forward to 2015, and I hope you will all join us here at Infrno!

I'll try my best to put something forward for every event. There is a post in the forum for a Monsterhearts game (where you play young adult monsters and is rules light) that is looking for players if anyone is interested.

For Origins, I will be running a playtest of a new RPG system developed by a member of our very own community, Michael Rees. The game is called 'Star Cruise', mixes Star Trek with Call of Cthulu, & is full of awesome. The session is called 'Duality'. I will tweak the original concept to more fall in line with 'origins', but here is the original game page to give you an idea of what it's all about.  http://www.infrno.net/games/4689-star-cruise-playtest-duality
