Don't call in the mornings...

[personal log]

So...talked to Aggie again today. I'm having a little trouble processing this knot inside me now. It's just...

She and I have always been partners in our dealings, ever since I was discharged, anyway. And it's bad enough that most people don't know what guys like me have to face out there to begin with. It's hard to give a shit about what these people seem to think is important when compared to that nightmare, so finding a common connection with anyone is...well it's best not to...

And add to that what...you know...what happened and all...well then even the brothers that you fought shoulder to shoulder with don't know what to make of you any more.

But Aggie doesn't look at me like that. She doesn't ask why I do what I have to do. She just want's to know that I'm being careful. It's probably just her watching out for her bread n' butter, but sometimes...I dunno...sometimes she actually seems to care. I can't blame her for screwin' another soldier and all. Hell, we all did it. When you're faced with death and war every damn day, you embrace the hell outta life wherever you can! Banging each others brains out is just the most obvious way to go about it, and she's entitled to that. It's just...sometimes it's a jagged pill, and the only way to make it easier is to swallow a different one. But she's right, I should be more careful. Next time I see that jet-skinned pusher of mine, I'll have to make sure he knows I'm not happy about getting dirty sugar.

Anyway, looks like D.'s sister is gettin' pressed on by some hack importer that I suspect is working for the Tri. Me and the guys are looking to put a bit of fear in the prick, but it won't hurt my feelings to have him out of the way. One of our new clients is getting cold feet, and Aggie thinks he's getting leaned on. This might be a soft spot for us to lean back with; remind those thugs that we can still make life hard for them for jackin' with the status quo. Still, if we can just dig up some dirt on this guy, his pipeline might be just what we need to put our buyer at ease.
